The Science Behind The Heat
All classes at Hot Yoga Cape Cod are held in a heated room. The heat of the room is not meant to make our classes hard. It is meant to help you experience the results of a consistent movement practice faster. The chemical reactions that happen in your body during a traditional workout happen exponentially faster when you add the element of heat. This allows practitioners to get more benefits out of each practice which is just one of the many reasons why we love taking class in a heated room!
Practicing in the heat causes your muscles to warm up faster which will allow you to move safely and with ease in all of our class offerings. When you move easier, you’ll experience more of the individual benefits of each Yoga posture and maximize the cardio element of your Inferno Hot Pilates class. In addition to improving your flexibility and range of motion, the heat will also help to bring fresh oxygenated blood flow to sore muscles, tight joints, and areas of inflammation. This is one of the many reasons why you leave the Yoga room feeling better than when you came in.
The high-speed oxygenated blood flow brought on by the combination of heat, deep breathing, and movement creates less lactic acid build up in your body. Less lactic acid in the body results in less muscle soreness after class. What does this mean? It means that you will feel great after class and that you can practice with us on a daily basis. Unlike other movement modalities, there is no need to take a day off to recover! You can do something great for your overall health and wellness each and every day.
These are only some of the many benefits of practicing in the heat. Regular practitioners have been known to experience:
Improved circulation and cardiovascular function
Decreased inflammation in the body
Improved focus and concentration
Improved respiratory function
Improved regulation of body temperature
At Hot Yoga Cape Cod, we go above and beyond to provide you with the best Hot Yoga and Hot Pilates experience. We heat our room using Enerjoy technology and the air of our yoga room is recirculated using a modern ventilation system designed specifically for Hot Yoga rooms.
