Savasana
Where is the primary focus? Relaxation, Recovery, Calm
Where does the posture provide maximum benefits? Your entire body and mind
When and where could I feel the stretch?
No stretch; just muscular relaxation and hopefully mental relaxation.
Why should I do this posture?
After more than 45 minutes of standing postures, your body is ready for a break and a reset before continuing the class.
How can I improve?
Breathe.
Be Still.
Be You.
Controlled relaxation is hard. It’s hard not to move, it's hard not to adjust, or follow your thoughts down the rabbit holes. It's all challenging, and yet it’s so good for you. It’s good to give up control and expectations to simply be present. The tension between controlling your movements and taking care of yourself is the point.
Stillness isn’t magic. It's building self-control, it’s building muscle memory to turn toward your breathing instead of turning toward your thoughts. You can start over in Savasana at any point.
Step up your accountability to yourself, breathe, be still, and be you.
